WEIGHT LOSS DIARY

After being dumped in January of 2007 by her girlfriend, and after spending several months using food to deal with it, in September of 2007, after a lifelong battle with being overweight and suffering from depression and insecurity, Jasmyne reached her first weight loss goal of 170 pounds, a loss of about 75 pounds. She has since gained a whole new lease and outlook on life.

In July of 2008, Jasmyne reached her second weight loss goal of 160 pounds.

Since reaching her weight loss goals, at 30, Jasmyne went on to complete a marathon, buy her first Victoria Secret bra, get a lower back tattoo, wear a bikini for the first time on the beach without wearing a towel or an oversized tshirt on, and she’s taken up tennis.

She currently leads a popular weekly hike for women in the Hollywood Hills with the goal of inspiring more women to take control of their health and lives.

2008 saw the premiere of her first documentary short film “The Incredibly True Adventures of Sistas of the Canyon,” a candid take on the ties that bind a group of African-American and Latina women in Los Angeles. Voices of mothers, sisters, daughters, girlfriends, and lesbian women spanning different generations, shapes, and sizes redefine unity and sisterhood by testing their physical and emotional boundaries that begin at the mountaintop.

One of the things Jasmyne credits her weight loss to is her public Weight Loss Diary where she shared her lifelong battle with weight, pound for pound, on her blog. The good, the bad, and the ugly.

She still writes in her Weight Loss Diary regularly and is working very hard at trying to keep the weight off and not becoming a statistic.  It’s been a battle to say the least…
