Introducing the Newest Member of the Log Cabin Republicans
I have to admit that it brings me great personal satisfaction when a member of the Republican Party who consistently voted against gay rights is found to be gay. I mean really, it just makes my day in way that nothing or no one else can.
So when the news broke that California State Senator Roy Ashburn, the father of four was arrested for driving under the influence while leaving a gay bar with another man this past weekend, I just had to smile and laugh.
I used to be an advocate for outing people, but as I grew older and wiser, I discovered that there really was no need to out people, they oftentimes almost always out themselves, as in the case of Senator Ashburn. Something tells me that before the year is over, both the Stonewall Democrats and the Log Cabin Republicans will have a few new members if you know what I mean.
Now on the flipside, for all you gay marriage advocates, here’s your chance to get a pretty sizeable donation out of Senator Ashburn–but knowing ya’ll, you already had the letter written, emailed, and mailed next day air the same day the story broke.
