Domestic Flying is Not the Same as Riding in the Amistad So Why We Actin’ Like It Is?
The Department of Transportation on Monday issued a new rule requiring airlines let passengers off airplanes on domestic flights if they’ve been sitting for three hours and forcing carriers to provide “adequate’’ food and water to passengers if they’ve been grounded on planes for two hours.
I say too little too late and tell it to my ancestors.
We’ve gotten so uppity these days. We complain about three hours on a tarmac, try several months on a slaveship where you really were packed in like sardines.
I’m just saying…domestic flying is not the same as riding the Amistad so why we actin’ like it is?
Three hours on a tarmac may be uncomfortable but I can think of a lot worse and there wasn’t any legislation or the appearance of legislation to save the day.
