Strange Behavior: Deputy District Attorney Tries to Make Deal in Jamiel Shaw Case?
First there was Sean Bell, and now this. Deputy D.A. Michelle Henisee is being accused by Jamiel Shaw Sr., the father of Jamiel Shaw II, 17, who was shot to death by suspected gang members on March 2 in Los Angeles, of offering a him a deal—pipe down on his calls to modify Special Order 40 with Jamiel’s Law or your son will be painted as a gang banger.
For the record, Jamiel was not a gang member when he was murdered, so for the Deputy D.A. to threaten to paint him as one just shows you how corrupt our justice system is, if you didn’t already know that is.
Also for the record, I am not in support of the calls to modify Special Order 40, a 29-year-old LAPD policy that bars officers from arresting or questioning people solely on suspicion of being in the country illegally. It is my opinion that you could deport all of the gang bangers today that are here “illegally” and there’d be a drive by tomorrow with someone Black behind the wheel. My point, this isn’t a Black vs. brown issue. Black people have been killing Black people in the name of red and blue for years, long before Jamiel’s life was tragically taken. No suckers live here. This is about the law-abiding citizens taking aim at all gang bangers, not just a select few.
However, I am extremely appalled that the Deputy D.A. would be as so brazen to tell a grieving father that either he back down from pushing Jamiel’s Law, a law that would permit Los Angeles police officers to arrest gang members for breaking U.S. immigration law, thus superseding Special Order 40, or risk having your murdered son’s name and reputation smeared.
Now that’s just bullshit.
I listened to Jamiel Shaw Sr. on KFI’s “John and Ken Show” (yeah, yeah, I know, but I like to know what the enemy is saying, lol) as he recanted the story of Deputy D.A. Michelle Henisee pushing him to maintain the status-quo in regards to Special Order 40 or Shaw would be portrayed as a member of the Bloods gang.
Shaw Sr. is pushing to have Henisee removed from the case, and I certainly hope he succeeds because that’s just bullshit.
Even though I don’t agree with the calls to modify Special Order 40, I do want to see justice served in this case. Jamiel died a senseless death and the person who murdered him should go to prison. I am clear on that.
It’s been hard enough to deal with the injustice served in the case of New York’s Sean Bell, let’s not go there with Jamiel’s trial. Deputy D.A. Henisee has got to go.
This Saturday, May 10th at 12 Noon, the Shaw family will be holding a special ceremony for Jamiel Jr. where he was shot dead at the intersection of 5th Avenue and 21st street in Arlington Heights.

Well hello Jasmyne. I’m glad to see someone actually supporting aloud support for the Shaw Family. I had the pleasure of meeting The Shaw’s last week at a rally in support of Jamiels Law. Thier story is so tragic, there was so much emotion in the room that it was barely tolerable. Americans are truly, truly fed up.
Unfortunately, I fell compelled to attack some of your positions.
To any rational, law abiding American, the fact that there are hundreds of thousands of violent gang members who are in this country illegally is unacceptable. There can be no question that had Pedro Espinoza been deported at the time of any one of his several arrests, young Jamiel would certainly be alive today. It seems you don’t comprehend that fact. Is your argument truly – “well, some black gang member would have shot him anyway!” The lack of intellectual honesty in that argument is unmistakable.
Second, you clearly are a Democrat. I feel compelled to show you the true ideology of the Democrat Party. You may start with this website: NBRA.com – National Black Republican Association. I’m sure you are aware that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a Republican. Perhaps you are aware that the KKK was created as the enforcement arm of the Democrat Party after the Civil War. (the founding members of whom were of course, Democrats). Do you not believe that a person should be judged by the content of her character, not the color of her skin??? Indeed, that is a Conservative idea – Dr. King’s idea.

Liberalism, such as the Liberalism pushed by Mrs. Pellosi (yes, I saw the picture), is truly the enemy of the black community. It is the Democrat Party that segregates it’s fallowers by race, age, religion, sexual orientation, etc. Watch the news coverage of any one of the primaries – it’s all Democrates speak about ! Since the beginning of the Party, Democrates have sought to keep Blacks down – nothing has changed. You are aware that the Democrat Congress philibustered the Civil Rights Act of 1964, do you not???
To be blunt ma’am, any Black American who believes that the Democrat Party is the party who exists to “help” the Black Community has been fooled. I know how hard this must be to hear, but please do not take my word for it – research the history of the Party, the Republicans who were lynched in the south after the Civil War when they came to the south to ensure that slaves were being freed! These were all Democrats doing the lynching. And finally, why, why do you think The Great Dr. King would be a Republican???
To come full circle – to support illegal immigration because you are a Democrat and Democrats want the boarders open and wish Democrats to believe that they want the boarders “open” because they “care” about illegal immigrants is simply naive and irresponsible. Feel free to contact me w/ any Q’s – however a short period of time researching the origin of the Democrat Party should be enough to convince you…
